Elaine is a multi-media artist with a long career in surface and textile design. Her work is flowing and dimensional, with an enhanced sense of color. She is inspired by nature, graphic impact, highs and lows, overlapping planes and entwining vistas. A balance of light and shadow are evident in her layouts.
As a child, Elaine loved to create clothing and animals with textile remnants her Dad brought home from his shop in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn. There he stored fabric remnants that were sold for recycling.
Elaine, in her multi-media work today, incorporates threads and fabric to enhance the color and dimension in her designs.
